Situation of Afghanistan

Afghan Special Forces fight against Taliban

Afghanistan is once again heading for a major crisis. And it is certain that if a wave of instability and civil war breaks out in Afghanistan, Pakistan will once again be the country most affected. Are we ready for that? It seems that neither the national nor the government is fully aware of the severity of the storm and no plan has been made for it.This has been going on for the last forty years. In late 1979, when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and began to form and break puppet governments of its own accord, the democratic government in Pakistan had come to an end. General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq was the ruler. There was no parliament or democratic institution. That is, there was no system of public representation or interpretation.
No force in Pakistan was going to challenge this decision. Since this was the decision of the army chief, it got the status of the decision of the army. The army was in power at the time, so it became the decision of the government of Pakistan. No voice was raised that we should keep ourselves away from this fire. Even if he woke up, he was not given any importance. Supporting the Afghan brothers was a popular decision compared to Russia, so the Pakistani people accepted this decision wholeheartedly with an Islamic spirit.
This is where the jihad in Afghanistan began. The United States had the opportunity to repay Russia's debt, so it generously supported Pakistan. Many Western countries also joined this "jihad". Pakistan has practically become the base camp of Jihad Afghanistan. Weapons began to pile up. Sacks full of dollars began to arrive. Pakistan became the first force of this jihad. We were also told that if the Red Bear succeeded in capturing Afghanistan, the next turn would be ours.
The spirit of jihad also created many jihadi groups in Pakistan. These jihadi groups were officially sponsored. The United States and the West also became strong supporters of "Islamic Jihad." He not only provided all the resources to the Mujahideen fighting the Russians in Afghanistan but also became the patrons of the Pakistani Mujahideen. The matter did not stop there. Young people with a passion for jihad from all over the world began to turn to Afghanistan. This jihad continued for twenty years. Russia was defeated. When the Mujahideen organizations could not handle the situation, the young Mujahideen took over the reins, in the name of the Taliban.

General Pervez Musharraf proved to be weaker than Zia-ul-Haq. He accepted American demands. Unlike in the 1980s, instead of Pakistan fighting alongside Afghans against foreign invaders, Musharraf decided that Pakistan would now fight against Afghans together with foreign invaders (the United States). It was a strange decision. If we did not have the courage to side with the Afghans and fight against the invaders, we would at least do not jump into the fire, but the American threat scared us.
We were made to believe that if Pakistan did not side with the United States, it would be pushed into the Stone Age. Musharraf's decision did not get public support. Killing the Afghan brothers together with the United States was not acceptable to anyone, but dictatorship is its name. The decision that comes out of the mouths of dictators becomes the destiny of the nation. "It is our religious and moral responsibility to work together with our Afghan brothers to kill the invaders," said one dictator. The second dictator said that killing the Afghan brothers along with the attackers was in the wider national interest. So we were embroiled in a war that was by no means ours.
Despite using its deadliest weapons for 20 years, the world's superpower (Russia) withdrew after a shocking defeat. For the next twenty years, another world superpower (the United States) left Afghanistan after a humiliating defeat. Neither the Russians nor the Americans could achieve their goals. As for Pakistan, we still do not know what our goals were and what we earned by engaging ourselves in private wars for forty years. Today, neither the United States is our friend, nor the West acknowledges our services, nor can we keep Russia happy, nor are the Afghan rulers extending a hand of friendship to us, nor are the Taliban happy with us.
Millions of refugees are permanently settled here. The culture of weapons is a gift to us. Incidents of terrorism have soaked the country in blood. More than 70,000 lives were lost in this war. Billions of dollars in economic losses. Today we are banning the organizations we raised for the Afghan Jihad. Terrorism has resumed.
When the decisions go to the dictators instead of the elected representatives of the people, they put their own interests first rather than the nation and the country. Today we are forced to reap the harvest of dictators. The fire of civil war in Afghanistan is turning into a bonfire but the Pakistani nation has no idea what our rulers are thinking and what is going to happen to us.
